I'm Shannon Leigh. I live bikes, and love sharing that passion! I grew up in the Seattle area and have always loved the outdoors. I started biking as a commuter and got a job at a bike shop while going to school for Environmental Studies. Well, I fell head over heels for the cycling world- took up distance road riding, bike-touring, gravel grinding, tried out cyclocross, and got deep into the dirt with mountain biking. I love it all! I'm happiest on two wheels. By the way - a proper fit is a game-changer for all of these disciplines!
A turning point in my riding was the first time I got my bike fit to me; I had no idea I could ride for hours without pain in my knees, and I almost instantly was holding a higher speed for longer time. I have had the honor of helping other people realize how a bike fit can improve comfort and performance for several years now. Two of my favorite comments I have received as feedback from riders I fit; "I rode 8 miles with my family to get ice cream, I never thought I would be able to do that!" and "Wow, I had no idea it was possible to accelerate UP a hill!" I am certified through Bike Fit and SBCU and learn something new from every person I help fit.
I love making people happy on their bikes! That's why I am so excited to be part of the Velopez Bike Fit team; we all share a passion for bikes and for enhancing other riders' experiences.
I look forward to helping you improve your cycling experience!
Erik Nordstrom - Fitter
erik@velopez.com

My name is Erik Nordstrom. I’m from Massachusetts originally, but moved to Seattle in 2003. I grew up playing every sport I could get my hands on (except hockey because, to the shame of my Swedish heritage, I can’t skate well at all). After graduating from college, I needed to find a new athletic pursuit. I tried a triathlon and loved it. Initially, cycling was my least favorite of the three triathlon disciplines, but as I became more hooked on tris and spent more time in the saddle, cycling became my passion.
15+ years later, I’ve completed triathlons of all distances, oversaw a cycle training program, made many great friends, and shared with them thousands of miles of beautiful northwest rides.
For years, I worked on and fitted bikes, but in 2013 Alfonso introduced me to Bike Fit. I immediately saw the value behind its philosophy, and witnessed the difference it made for riders of all levels. Alfonso, asked if I wanted to join him at Velopez, and I said absolutely! We’ve been churning out happy riders ever since!
Alfonso Lopez - Owner/Head Fitter
alfonsol@velopez.com

My name is Alfonso Lopez. I began cycling as a massively overweight college student in Austin Texas. I had no car and needed to get around. That short 2-3 mile commute became an unbelievably slippery slope. I took up longer distances, mountain biking, century rides, triathlon and, eventually, straight up bike racing. I absolutely love the cycling world and I have spent the last 12 years talking about it to anyone who will listen.
As you can imagine a 6'4'', 210lb road racer knows quite a bit about where a bike can hurt. I am on the bike 150-200 miles a week. If it can hurt, I've felt it hurt. Ask me about my first STP when you get a chance. I dare you.
Over 10 or so years I had experimented with my fit and thought I had it dialed in. I could go long distance with mild discomfort and I thought I was the bee's knees. Then one day, years ago, a fellow Cycle-U/Apex racing member trained in the BikeFit system and practiced on us.
My entire world (on the bike) changed.
It's that simple. After 10 years of knowing I had my bike setup properly I was introduced to a completely different experience on the bike. It was night and day.
I want to provide that wonderful experience to other cyclists. Grizzled old veterans like me or fresh faced fair weather commuters, everyone deserves to feel this way on a bike. So shoot me an email, or give me call. I am insufferably excited to fit your bike to your body!
